Main Tent

This large canvas tent has obviously been set up as the main office and lounge area for the *biologists and *designers here. There are lanterns hanging from the center pole; a bottle FlyTrap hangs from an edge-pole and small speakers are mounted on tiny platforms wired onto horizontal supports above you. At its center the tent stands a good 8 feet high and the sides, though sloped-ceilinged, are still more than high enough to stand beneath without stooping. The floor has been covered in some sort of thick, woven straw mat with dirt trampled in. It's quite obvious the room is well used. There's an air of stale coffee, pickles, and tinned sardines about. All in all it could use some airing out! The room holds a small *refrigerator (powered by a generator behind the tent), an ancient *turntable, *bookcases, and a jumble of *tables and *chairs. There's a sort of makeshift *kitchen area too, with a couple of wide shelves built over a counter holding a *coffeepot (also generator powered) and a scramble of *condiments and *utensils. A large *blackboard stands in one corner, *chalk in a built-in tray at the bottom.
