Hotel Fauve

Welcome to the lobby of this fine boutique hotel, established by Mademoiselle Athenais. A warm fire crackling in the white marble fireplace offsets a breeze which brings the scent of pine and seasalt through the high, open windows. The walls are covered in a pale blue moire silk. Cognac silk covers the 17th century chairs clustered around the walnut gaming tables and divans. An enormous Aubusson carpet in tones of blue, gold and white reflects the ceiling design. A baroque sideboard holds an ancient coffee service and you can smell the delicious scones and biscuits piled on the salver next to the assorted pots of jam, cream, and sugar. Beautiful old cut-glass vases are filled with peonies. Harpsichord music fills the air.
