Casa Morgana
You find yourself in a warm and inviting space. Morg's playful spirit pervades the premises. This room is simultaneously cheerful and calming. It's an ecclectic blend of Southwestern shades ... pinks, mauves and turquoise, accented with art deco-inspired mouldings and some antique English oak pieces, circa 1900-1930's.
The walls are a soft mauvey pink, the floors are natural hardwood, softened by large dhurrie rugs. Huge green plants and trees in gigantic brass and terra cotta pots thrive under the skylight-dotted 2-story ceiling.
One wall is covered by a free-form shelving unit painted high-gloss turquoise. Some shelves contain books, some memorabilia ... others are spaced to frame pictures hanging on the wall.
On another wall, a large stone fireplace with antique brass hearth accessories. Small antique tables are placed around the room amongst the two sofas and three over-sized wing chairs.
You feel cordially welcome here. Relax ... take a load off. Have a seat on a big, plump sofa <sit sofa>. Or, get comfy in one of the big wing chairs <sit chair> and, if you wish, pull up the round leather hassock to rest your feet on <sit hassock>.
On a third wall, floor-to-ceiling windows with sliding glass doors out to the Patio where a forked path leads out to the Gardens or down to A California Beach.
You glance over and see a stairway leading up to where an overhang makes that corner of the room a single story high. Up there is my Private Loft with French doors opening onto a Balcony Garden. As it is private, please don't be offended if you can't go there.
Shabbat Candles is here.
