Starfleet Academy
The best and brightest members of Starfleet all come from here, the Academy. Built in a California mission style meant to evoke the great military institutions of the 19th century, it still maintains a nanotech ambiance. The main building rises to a considerable height despite its relatively narrow aspect and is adorned with polished, white stucco. The lobby, where you now stand, has adobe-accented walls and a number of exotic, probably extraterrestrial, potted plants. The flags of the first twelve Federation member worlds hang from the far wall. Beneath them are the portraits of celebrated Academy commandants. The occasional tourist wanders in, looks around quizzically, and wanders out again.
