Ocean Beach

Winds gust and blow over the icy grey waters of the Pacific Ocean as it breaks against the long sandy shore of the westernmost part of San Francisco. North of here, it rushes swiftly into the great bay, under the Golden Gate Bridge. Curving to the northwest are the bold Marin County headlands, tawny and green. South, the beach disappears into the ever-present fog as it streams in tattered majesty towards the warmth of the interior. It's much cooler down by the water than in the city, and many people have skipped work to hit the beach.
