Mendocino

A lovely little village, built on the bluffs above the Pacific Ocean in northern California. From the looks of the architecture, it could have been transported from a 19th century New England fishing village. A wooden sidewalk runs down the side of Main street, and many interesting shops and gallerys catch your eye. As you walk west on Main street, you see Dick's Place on your right. You can drop in here for a cold beer, or something stronger. Maybe shoot a game of darts, or even play the pinball machine. A few doors down, at Brandons, you can sit out on the deck and enjoy the catch of the day, as well as a beautiful view of Mendocino harbor, and the huge expanse of the Pacific ocean. From here, you can see a path winding out to the headlands above Mendocino harbor. Don't feel like lunch? Maybe a stop at the Mendocino Ice Cream Company is more to your liking. It's mighty good stuff, and there could be a line. Continuing further on the wooden sidewalk, you come to the Mendocino Hotel. The hotel is another well preserved relic of early California. The Lobby, dining room and bar are tastefully furnished with antiques, and the whole ambience of the place seems to take you back in time.
