Bankside, San Francisco Bay

At the far end of Federation Plaza, a grassy embankment slopes down to San Francisco Bay. Across the water, the familiar sight of the Golden Gate Bridge rises majestically, casting a shimmering reflection onto the sun-dappled waves. A number of Starfleet personnel lounge comfortably beneath the trees, quietly eating their lunches or chatting amiably about matter phase transducers. The city of San Francisco looks much as it did at the end of the 20th century, as if its appearance were frozen in time and nobody bothered to update its description during the intervening centuries. From this vantage point, near Sausalito, you can observe from a distance the frenzy of transorbital traffic buzzing about the city's hills. Frequent ferries depart from this side of the bay, but they disappear into the fog clinging to the opposite side before you can tell where exactly they're headed.
